Replacing emission-heavy gas boilers with heat pumps and associated pipework to protect the environment

Over the past few years, Arcade has been commissioned to refurbish various plant rooms; installing new heat pump technology in place of old, emission-heavy gas and oil-fired boilers.

Heat pumps provide an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuel heating solutions such as gas boilers. A heat pump extracts energy from the air, ground or water around a building, processing this energy to be used to heat the property and water.

Heat pumps can also be used for cooling, to assist industrial processes such as heating, cooling and drying, as well as boiler preheating.

According to the Carbon Trust, heat pumps in England use 55-65% less carbon than an A-rated gas boiler, increasing to 100% if you use renewable electricity.
