Powering progress – how Arcade’s electrical expertise drives their M&E approach

Electrical work has been at the heart of our business for over 40 years supporting clients with their electronic issues. But what once sat as a standalone specialism can now be packaged as a fully integrated mechanical and electrical (M&E) solutions across our projects.

From trusted partner to in-house capability – why integration matters

Our electrical service was offered through long-standing external partnerships with trusted contractors who worked alongside the core team for many years. When electrical and mechanical services are managed separately, it can lead to miscommunication, delays, and clashing workflows.

As demand grew and project scopes expanded, it became clear that bringing electrical expertise in-house was the next logical step. By offering M&E as a fully-integrated solution, we remove that friction.

We joined forces with a long-term trusted contractor in Justin Smith, who now heads up our electrical division. His knowledge and expertise give us the ability to offer full in-house capability across both disciplines meaning our valued clients can rely on one contractor to deliver the complete package. One team, one plan, one point of contact.

It results in smoother installations, clearer accountability, and smarter collaboration. No more chasing between trades or trying to bridge the gap between two contractors who might not be aligned. Instead, everything is delivered through a coordinated team that speaks the same language – both technically and culturally.

Our electrical services offer

We deliver electrical service solutions for commercial, industrial and public sector clients, including:

  • Full installation and commissioning
  • Fire alarms, intruder alarms and access control
  • Emergency lighting, including self-testing systems
  • Electric heating and power distribution
  • Testing, inspection and compliance reporting

We also support planned maintenance and compliance checks, including landlord inspections for housing providers. Electrical testing often opens the door to wider services within the discipline – from fixing faults there and then, without having to bring in another contractor. This saves our clients time, money and effort.

A real-world example: Allhallows

Our recent work at Allhallows marked a key milestone: From mains distribution and electric heating to air conditioning and water systems, everything was handled by us.

The project also showed how effective communication between mechanical and electrical teams makes a tangible difference. With everyone working towards the same goal, design decisions were joined up and install phases ran more smoothly.

Powering the next phase of growth

Our electrical team continues to grow, taking on more work across healthcare, housing, and process sectors. The offer is simple: one team that can deliver everything from containment and cabling to heat recovery and HVAC.

If you’re planning a project and want to simplify your contractor list, reduce risk and keep things moving, talk to us. Our electrical roots run deep – and our integrated M&E offering is built to deliver better results, start to finish.
